Kiss Today Goodbye

This morning's song was What I Did For Love. From 3 a.m. until I left my house for the mammogram. Did I write about that? I often wake with a song in my head. (See today's Widow's Chronicle.)
Some songs I wake with I like, some I don't. This one, by Marvin Hamlisch, I love.

It's from A Chorus Line, which Lola and I saw on Broadway many years ago.
Here are the words, so you can remember.

Kiss today goodbye,
the sweetness and the sorrow.
Wish me luck, the same to you.
But I can't regret
What I did for love,
What I did for love.

Look my eyes are dry.
The gift was ours to borrow.
It's as if we always knew,
And I won't forget what I did for love
What I did for love.

Gone
Love is never gone.
As we travel on,
Love's what we'll remember.

Kiss today goodbye,
And point me t'ward tomorrow.
We did what we had to do.
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for love.
What I did for love.

Gone

Love is never gone.
As we travel on,
Love's what we'll remember.

Kiss today goodbye,
And point me t'ward tomorrow.
We did what we had to do.
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for love.
What I did for love.
What I did for love.
